Sidharth prepares for second surgery

The surgery for Sidharth on the left eye is planned for 10:00 am on Monday, December 11, 2005. The doctor suggests that the left eye is in better condition than the right eye. Please pray for complete cure for the left eye.

After the surgery on the right eye (which was performed last Friday), Sidharth was discharged after 24 hours and was allowed to go back to the hotel room to stay with his parents. The doctor examined the right eye on Saturday. At this point, the doctor does not promise more than ambulatory vision for the right eye. There is no way for them to detect if Sidharth is going to have a better vision than ambulatory vision or not. They just have to wait for at least 6-12 months before they can conclusively determine the extent of vision the right eye has. At this point, the doctor does not expect to perform second surgery on the right eye.

Some of you have asked if any more financial help is needed. At this point, the funds are sufficient for the surgery to the left eye and subsequent medical expenses. After surgery to the left eye, the doctors will have a clear picture if any more procedures are needed or not. At that point, we will have a better picture if the funds that we have collected so far will be sufficient or not.

For now, please pray for Sidharth!
