Update on Sidharth's health
Sorry for the delayed post.
Sidharth is still recovering from his first two surgeries. The bandaid is still on for both his eyes. He is scheduled to have his follow-up exam after surgery on Thursday, December 22, 2005.
At the end of the first two surgeries, the detached retina in both eyes is now put in place. The doctors had to clean the blood between the retina and the eyeballs to allow the retina to heal and attach itself. There is still minor hard-to-clean blood remaining which the doctors says would automatically be absorbed. This is going to take some time (several months) to absorb and retina to be attached completely.
The doctor has asked the parents to expose Sidharth more to the sunlight. Unfortunately, sunlight is hard to come by in Detroit these days. It is freezing cold and Sidharth and his parents are restricted to their hotel room. If you would like to reach Sridhar, you may contact him at 248-583-5522 ext: 7479.
Ideally Dr. Trese would like to see baby Sidharth after four months to monitor his progress.
Regarding finances, we will have a better hold of finances after all the appointments are completed towards the end of January. For now, we have sufficient funds for immediate needs. I am removing links to the online donation from the blog. I will have an updated donor list and total amount received shortly. Thank you for all your help and prayers.
